career in education teaching third grade in North Sioux City, South Dakota. After ten years as a third-grade instructor, I began teaching in the Junior First Grade Classroom and Kindergarten at North Sioux City for the next eleven years. In 2000, I relocated to California. It was there that I continued my career at Barona Charter School. While at BCS, I taught grades K-2. My family relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada for a year. While there, I taught second grade at an Edison School. I have been teaching for 45 years. I promote curiosity and a love for learning and am always working to build critical thinking skills. I try to set realistic goals for myself and my students. I am adaptable and can work effectively with a diverse population. I know the importance of making education a team effort with all adults who are involved in a child’s life.
